Leviticus 5

7 “But if you cannot afford to bring a sheep, you may bring to the Lord two turtledoves or two young pigeons as the penalty for your sin. One of the birds will be for a sin offering, and the other for a burnt offering.

maybe this is why there are too many pigeons in some places… lol

Unqualified

Posted by blueraindrop on March 27, 2009

The job ads have got to be one of the most depressing things to read.

Nothing like realizing that by their standards, you aren’t even qualified to deliver pizzas, wash the outside of trucks at a truck wash, or be a cashier at a random mall clothing store.

All three are able to be picky enough right now as to require experience doing them.

I have to wonder how many experienced truck washers are around here.

Minor changes

Posted by blueraindrop on March 24, 2009

Made a few random minor changes around here.

The way the images display on the width has always driven me nuts… so it inspired some re-arranging.

And yet, they still aren’t resizing correctly for small windows. So if you can’t see the border on all sides, it will cut off unless you resize the window.

Anything make things worse?

Desaturated

Posted by blueraindrop on March 24, 2009

I’ve been playing with photoshop (ok, so its actually mostly pixelmator) with some of my favorite pics from over spring break.

And it struck me as kind of interesting that my desire right now on almost all of them is to drop the color saturation low, and boost the contrast.

The last larger group of pics I was playing with from the zoo, it was about the exact opposite. Over-saturated color and softened.

Probably a lot more of a mood thing than it is anything about the pics themselves. Will see in time if I prefer the originals or the play products I guess.

Here

Posted by blueraindrop on March 22, 2009

We were about 30 minutes outside the edge of city2 when I noticed the smoke behind the car.

The area is sort of foothills to small mountains. Semi-curvy road, small shoulder, rock walls at the edge where the road was cut into the terrain.

Remember that mention of a minor oil leak?

When I left the hotel, I checked the oil… it was at the same level as it had been before a trip of 45 min each way the day before, and a dinner trip. So I wasn’t too worried heading out. And I still had about 3 1/2 quarts of oil I’d grabbed at walmart when I noticed the leak, just in case it needed some when I checked it when we stopped.

Obviously , visible smoke at highway speeds meant we were on to plan b now.

An hour and a half, 65 bucks and a new oil filter with no hole later we were back on the road.

But not without second guessing on resuming the same direction.
