Catching up…

Been kind of preoccupied with a project as of late. My excuse for the posts being sparce here lately.
I’ll link to it eventually… but right now its still nowhere near ready. Honestly its a total mess.
I basically had three different things going on, on three different servers at three different times.. but all part of the same project.
the three systems each worked well on their own… and were neatly organized… they just each were outgrown (the first used main labels of a, b, c, etc that got messy after 26 entries) and not able to merge neatly into each other.
The last time I combined them, I left all three separate naming and filing systems as they were and just sort of stuffed them all together…. which of course made things messier to try to clean up now.
To make things worse, 4 different times I flubbed up on my numbering system, meaning to fix it now I either would have gaps or have to number everything downline from it. Because it’s such a mess anyway, and because one of the 4 completely throws everything else off to need redone anyway, I’ve decided to bite the bullet and fix it while I’m at it and the mess is familiar.
Which means renaming 400+ files, reuploading them, going in and editing 55 entries that are already completed just numbered wrong, and about 100 more to sort out whether or not they are wrong from the glip. and about 150 that still needed to have correct dates entered. oh… and going in and tagging 200 pics.
Not having anywhere near as easy of a time as I expected when I started…. but at least it will be done and organized. And if I keep with it now, it will still make sense, where picking it back up later it will take me forever to figure out what I was doing again.
But its gone a bit past the fun part.
